The first World Accounting Forum(WAF) will be held on May 25 and May 26, in Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province. The Forum is approved by the Ministry of Finance of the People’s Republic of China, sponsored by China Finance & Economy Media Group(CFEMG) and the People’s Government of Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province. It is organized by the Corporate Finance Press and the People’s Government of Keqiao District of Shaoxing City with such co-organizers as Beijing National Accounting Institute, Shanghai National Accounting Institute, Xiamen National Accounting Institute, Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountant, Accounting Society of China, China Association of Chief Financial Officers. Nearly a thousand leading pioneers in the sector of accounting, who are from China’s governmental authorities and renowned accounting organizations, Fortune 500, famous accounting firms and research institutes from home and abroad will gather in Shaoxing City, to exchange ideas about the new development trend of accounting in the world.
On behalf of the sponsors, Zhou Xingfa, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Board of CFEMG introduces the theme of the Forum as “Leading Global Accounting& Upgrading by New Intelligence”.It is aimed at forging an international platform on which innovative accounting theories and practices can be shared among Chinese and global insightful CEO and CFO, so as to provide constructive suggestions and multiple thinking for the sector of accounting in the world.
According to Zhou Xingfa, China’s accounting has made remarkable achievements in internationalization and other aspects since the Reform and Opening-up policy. Breakthroughs have been made in management accounting in recent years. Successful cases of Chinese enterprises such as Lenovo and Haier were cited by Harvard Business School as model cases for MBA. It is safe to say that China has become an important player on the international accounting arena.
According to an official of the municipal government of Shaoxing City, there is  deep and far-reaching relationship between Shaoxing and accounting culture. The “Kuaijishan Mountain” in Shaoxing is a monument of accounting in the long history of China. “Qiangushiye( local government official’s private assistant in charge of finance& taxation)” is also a model for accountants. To hold the Forum in Shaoxing, listed as one of the origins of world accounting culture, will help to integrate the culture into the development of the city, adding new dynamics to the city economy, as well as making Shaoxing a representative of Chinese accounting culture in the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
Mr. Ma Jinghao, Secretary -General of the Organizing Committee of WAF and Editor In Chief Of Corporate Finance, released that nearly a thousand elites in accounting from politics, business, and academia will attend the Forum, including the CEO and CFO from Fortune 500, renowned global presidents from the Institute of Management Accountant(IMA), The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales(ICAEW) and so on. And Officers from many nationally well-known universities will also share their insights into accounting, including such universities as Renmin University of China, Central University of Finance and Economics, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, University of International Business and Economics and so on.
The forum will last for one and a half days. On the first day, the main forum themed as “Leading Global Finance and Upgrading by New Intelligence ” is to be held, followed by the “2017 China CFO Annual Character Award Ceremony”. On the next day, four parallel sub-forums are to be held respectively at different venues, and they are: Intelligent Finance Development Forum, Management Accounting Development Forum, Certificate Public Accountant Summit Forum and Accounting Theory And Education Development Forum.
